Sunny becoming a new Champion

Sunny was the final addition to the foundation girls of Calisun Standards, joining Casey and Lilli.

Her name, Aris Esprit Serendipity's Gift, is so appropriate because I hadn't planned on adding my third girl until sometime in 2007, and her early arrival was serendipitous. When my good friend, Beth Harris of Aris Standard Poodles, told me she was breeding her foundation bitch Aris, Ch. Blue Skies Aris Inspiration, to Ann Rairigh's Collin, Ch. Litilann's Deja Blu, I knew the pups would be spectacular and I just couldn't pass up the chance to have this girl. The bonus was that Sunny ended up being pick of the litter, too! As they say, serendipity is a gift, and that she is!

Our plans were for Sunny's big debut sometime early in 2007, being handled by her co-breeder Ann Rairigh and we thought she might cause quite a stir! Well, she simply blew us all away! Sunny was brought out of hiding for the Florida show circuit, competing against her sister Lilli several times (which made for a stressful situation for Mom!). She started the Florida circuit by taking back-to-back 5 pt majors, competing from the Bred By class in a huge field of 35+ bitches. Then on February 9, 2007, in Indianapolis, Sunny went Winners Bitch and BoW in the Poodle Specialty under Judge Faye Strauss, for another 5 pt major and new American Championship at just 10 months old! I'm so proud of this girl!
